The members of the Freight Management Association of Canada (FMA) revealed a global network on Monday in the hopes that it will drive down costs and raise service levels on the nation's roads and railroads.
The network, which has 15 members from other nations, will serve as a freight broker for cargo coming into or departing from Canada.
The organisation, which has strong ties to Australia, is also thinking about putting policies into place that would let carriers apply for C-Train carrier cards and allow drivers to accumulate international freight pilot-packs.
The FMA will transport freight on Canada's existing rail and road networks.
Our strategic alliance with freight management firms in Asia and Europe will provide the region a worldwide reach to draw in foreign trade
